Child sex offender pleads guilty

On July 11, Port Arthur police announced that a sex offender had been sentenced to 35 years in prison for the contnuous sexual abuse of a “young child or children.”

Eduardo Briones, pleaded to 35 years in prison for his invovlement in the crime of continuous sexual abuse of young child or children. Briones’ accusers made outcries to the Port Arthur Police Department in reference to the man’s acts.

Subsequent to the accuser’s outcry, Briones was charged for the crime and later indicted by the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. Rather than challenging what he was charged for and facing his accusers in trial, Briones decided to plea to 35 years in prison.
