Just before 11 p.m. New Year’s Eve, Port Neches police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Cypress Street in reference to a shooting, according to a news release.
Officers learned there had been a large party at this residence involving minors and found a “large amount” of alcohol. Further investigation revealed two victims had been shot and transported to a local hospital in a private vehicle prior to PNPD’s arrival. Neither victim was reported as having life-threatening injuries.
During the course of the investigation, officers determined that several subjects arrived at the party and started a fight before one of the suspects fired a handgun into the crowd while leaving the scene.
The homeowner arrived on the scene during the investigation and was uncooperative, as were many of the witnesses. There is no further information at this time
