TxDOT: Expect lane closures on 69 this week

The Texas Department of Transportation is warning motorists to expect lane closures on U.S. 69 north and southbound until April 10. Road workers will alternate lane closures throughout the week as construction persists.

Vidor Police Department was called to the 100 block of Hebert Street on April 4 in reference to shots fired.  Upon their arrival, officers found four victims that had been struck in the gunfire.

Saturday, April 4, the Vidor Police Department dispatch center received a call of an assault in progress in the 1100 block of N. Archie. The caller advised that she and her husband were having an argument when he produced a handgun and fired it at her.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) has released a report showing a single-month increase of nearly 1%.  Total nonfarm payroll employment fell by 701,000 in March, and the unemployment rate rose to 4.4%, according to BLS information.

PA murder suspects arrested

The Port Arthur Police Department has arrested two individuals for the July 19 murder of 42-year-old Joel Lopez Martinez. Martinez was shot and killed at his home in the 3200 block of 18th Street at about 1:15 a.m. that morning.
