Gulf Shrimp Season Closing on Saturday, May 15, 2021

AUSTIN- The Gulf of Mexico commercial shrimp season for both Texas and federal waters will close 30 minutes after sunset on Saturday, May 15, 2021until a still-to-be determined date in July.

West Brook soccer star signs with University of St. Thomas

West Brook senior Brooke Le signed a national letter of intent to continue her education and play collegiate soccer for the University of St. Thomas in Houston. Le and the Lady Bruins finished the season 21-4-4 and advanced to the Class 6A Regional Semifinals where they fell short, 2-0, to Cy-Fair.

Lone Star Law stars headline Free Family Fun Day

Honoring the fallen

The Beaumont Police Department is inviting the public to join as BPD commemorates those lost in the line of duty during the annual Fallen Officer Memorial Ceremony on Thursday, May 13, at 9 a.m. The ceremony will be conducted on the front steps of BPD, located at 255 College Street in Beaumont.

The Seafarers’ Center of Beaumont will host a crawfish and shrimp boil Tuesday, May 11, from 5-8 p.m. at Gator Country, 21159 FM 365, located just minutes west of Beaumont. Dinner, entertainment and a raffle will be offered. A limited number of tickets are available for $50 each.
