Man injured after van strikes tree

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to a single-vehicle crash on FM 105 near Keith Road on July 18. DPS reported a van left the roadway and struck a tree and part of the vehicle burst into flames. The incident occurred about 6:30 p.m.

Two injured in multi-vehicle crash

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 on July 13, near Mile Marker 857. According to DPS, the preliminary crash investigation indicated at approximately 3 p.m., a 2008 Dodge pickup, driven by Eugene Breaux, 69, of Sour Lake, was in the right lane.

LOSD board OKs staff raises

A proposed Compensation Plan calling for employee raises was approved for the 2022-23 budget by the Lumberton ISD Board of Trustees on July 14. Board President James Kersh noted the Compensation Plan is part of the budget process and salaries make up about 80% of the annual budget.

Aspiring scientists learned to formulate and create using BASF chemistry at the BASF Kids’ Lab Camp from July 11-15 at the Beaumont Children’s Museum. The BASF Beaumont site and the BASF TotalEnergies Petrochemicals LLC site in Port Arthur sponsored the camp for the seventh year.
