Murder suspect identified

Beaumont Police Department (BPD) detectives obtained a murder and aggravated robbery warrant for the suspect in a Sept. 21 robbery and subsequent shootout that occurred in the 300 block of E. Simmons. Oct. 28, BPD announced, officers named 29-year-old Carron Joseph Dickenson Jr.

No vaping in or around City Hall

After complaints of city employees vaping inside City Hall, the Silsbee City Council approved a resolution to modify the Human Resource Police Manual to prohibiting employees from “vaping” inside or around city buildings. The action was taken during the Oct. 17 regular meeting.
