Steve McGrade was unmasked April 12 as King Neches LXXV at the Event Centre in downtown Beaumont. Though not a lifelong resident of Beaumont, McGrade and his family-owned and operated business, Able Fastener Inc., has been serving the area for 28 years.

Sole shooter arrested in double murder  The suspect in a double muder turned himself in, according to the Beaumont Police Department (BPD). April 12, Dijon Ivory, 29, of Beaumont, was charged with two counts of murder and bond was set at $2 million.

Lumberton to get a college satellite campus

In the near future, some Hardin County residents may not have to make the trip to attend classes at Lamar State College-Orange (LSCO). Because of the increased number of Lumberton students enrolled for classes at LSCO, construction of its first satellite campus is underway in Hardin County.

Alleged pedophiles paraded before Jefferson Co. court

A litany of lingering child sex cases alleged in Jefferson County were called before Judge Raquel West the week of April 11, one proceeding to trial with the accused representing himself against allegations of continuous sexual abuse of a child and sexual assault of a child.
