Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued a mandate requiring anyone entering the state of Texas through a Louisiana roadway to adhere to a 14-day quarantine. The order took effect Monday, March 30, at noon. As of 1:30 p.m., the Texas-Louisiana border was open to regular traffic, with Texas Department of Public Safety officers positioned at the border's travel center.

Though there was a law enforcement presence, no travelers were being stopped coming into the state.
