FROM BEAUMONT PD:
On Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 12:12 pm, Beaumont Police officers responded to 3150 W. Cardinal in reference to a suspicious person.
When officers arrived, the suspect fled on foot but was quickly apprehended. Investigation revealed that the suspect had stolen three packages from the front porch of an apartment, which he was in the process of opening when confronted by officers. It was also learned that the Kia the suspect arrived in had been reported stolen earlier in the day.
The suspect was identified as Brycelyn Nelson, 17, of Beaumont. Nelson was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility and charged with theft of mail and evading arrest.
