Msgr. Jeremiah J. McGrath of the Saint Anthony Cathedral Basilica announced their annual St. Joseph's Day is canceled.

"Following national guidelines and protocols given at the White House on Monday afternoon, March 16, 2020, regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) and in an effort to do our part to safeguard the health of those living in our community, the St. Joseph’s Day lunch event at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica has been cancelled due to the anticipated large number of attendees. We are greatly disappointed to cancel this annual community event but trust it is the best decision for the protection of public health and promotion of the common good.

Those who placed orders for cookies and other food items may pick up their order on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday of this week, March 17-19,  from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the St. Anthony Cathedral Center located at 700 Jefferson St. Also, friends and supporters in the community who did not place an order but would like to purchase fig cookies, biscotti, coconut balls, sesame seed cookies, frozen Tomato Gravy in quart and pint containers, frozen Artichoke, Green Bean casseroles, or Stuffed Artichokes are also invited to come to the St. Anthony Cathedral Center to purchase these items.

We unite in constant prayer with all in Southeast Texas, our state, country and global community for the containment, mitigation and end of this very serious viral pandemic."
