Southeast Texas credit union customers targeted on Facebook

Neches Federal Credit Union serving Southeast Texas is reporting an online attack targeting its members.

According to an announcement from the credit union, “We are receiving reports that a fake Neches Facebook account is attempting to friend request our members.

“They are also direct messaging our members to register their personal profile on a fraudulent website. Please do not share your information on any site. Neches will never ask for personal information, debit card number, or your social security number, etc. If you receive a friend request from NechesFederal-CreditUnion, please report it as a fake account. We are working with Facebook to get this account closed.”
