The Silsbee Police Department (SPD) reported a 21-year-old male was arrested for a sex crime.
Shynolan Jermain Fontenot was arrested Jan. 1 for sexual assault.
As of press time, Fontenot was in the Hardin County Jail with a total bond set at $200,000 by Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace Charles Brewer.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, a SPD officer checked on a suspicious vehicle parked in the back parking lot of St. John Church, 1305 Roosevelt Dr. The officer found a 14-year-old female in the back seat of the suspect’s vehicle.
The juvenile told the officer she has been in a dating relationship with the suspect for eight months. The girl’s mother arrived on the scene and stated her daughter had been having sex with the suspect.
