Provost Umphrey Law Firm announces the resolution of a wrongful death lawsuit filed on behalf of Tiffani McInnis, the daughter of Kimberly Langwell, who was murdered in 1999. The lawsuit was filed against Terry Lee Rose Sr., whose was Langwell's boyfriend.
The judgement awards McInnis all assets of Rose. This includes Rose's property, homestead, and his vehicles. The court also imposed a prohibition preventing Rose from profiting in any manner from the death of Langwell through memoirs, films, television productions, interviews, or any other related commercial endeavors. Any proceeds derived from interviews will belong to McInnis.
34-year-old Kimberly Langwell was reported missing by her daughter, Tiffani, in July of 1999. Langwell's car was found in the parking lot, near Ekerds Drug Store in the Collonnade Shopping Center on Phelan Blvd in Beaumont. In 2024, 25 years after the murder David Wiley, a longtime friend of Rose, was given immunity, told Beaumont police detectives that Rose confessed to him that he had shot Langwell in the back of the head and buried her beneath his bedroom floor.
Police went to Rose's home on Linbergh Drive in Beaumont and Langwell's body was found wrapped in a blanket buried in the floor of a bedroom, 25 years after she was reported missing. Rose was arrested in June of 2024 as he was leaving a Beaumont restaurant. A week before his trial was set to begin, Rose entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
