Regional COVID count nears 100

The Southeast Texas Regional Emergency Operations Center released it's daily count of confirmed coronavirus cases in the six-county area.

As of Friday, April 3, Jefferson County has 50 confirmed cases with Beaumont accounting for nearly a third of the 94 cases at 31. Hardin County and Orange County each have 19 confirmed cases. Jasper has three, Tyler County has 2 and Newton County has one. To date, there have been three deaths associated with COVID-19.

A total of 160 tests were done at the Jefferson and Hardin County drive-thru testing sites and the hotline received 147 calls.
