Port Arthur pedestrian struck by car in critical condition

A Port Arthur pedestrian was struck and is in critical condition after an accident that occurred around 10 p.m. Feb. 13 in the 1400 block of Jefferson Drive, according to a news release.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 64-year-old man attempted to cross the street from East to West. The victim failed to yield to oncoming traffic, according to the release, and was hit by a sport-utility-type vehicle. 

The victim was transported to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth for treatment on multiple injuries. No charges have been filed against the driver at this point and the incident is being investigated by PAPD’s Advanced Accident Reconstruction Team.
