Pedestrian struck in Port Arthur

Just after 6 a.m. Jan. 4, officers of the PAPD responded to the 1800 block of Rosedale Avenue in reference to an auto pedestrian accident.

Investigation revealed that the unnamed black male victim was walking in the northbound lane in an unlit area, while wearing dark clothing. The driver was also traveling north and told police they did not see the victim until it was too late. 

The victim was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital before being airlifted to Hermann Memorial Hospital with a serious, life-threatening head injury.

This incident is under investigation by the Advanced Accident Investigation Division and the Criminal Investigation Division of the PAPD.
