PAPD responds to aggravated assault

March 23, at about 8:45 p.m., officers with the Port Arthur Police department responded to a call at Pebble Creek Apartments, 4251 Jimmy Johnson Blvd., in reference to shots fired.

Upon their arrival, officers found a black male victim that had sustained a gunshot wound to his lower body. The wound did not appear to be life-threatening. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

As of publication, PAPD reported the matter was under investigation by PAPD's Criminal Investigation Division.
