PAPD arrests carful of armed men

At about 12:30 a.m. Dec. 30, Port Arthur police conducted a traffic stop in the 3600 block of Jimmy Johnson Boulevard, where four subjects were found to be in possession of multiple weapons.

Officers found three loaded semi-automatic handguns, along with an AR-style rifle and ski masks inside the vehicle. The suspects were taken into custody for charges including felon in possession of a firearm, evading detention with a previous conviction, unlawfully carrying of a handgun and possession of a controlled substance. PAPD believes the patrol officers stopped an impending criminal incident.

Officers arrested Derrion Daugherty, 23; Daseqrick Brooks, 26; Fabbian Scott, 23; and Isaac Martin, 28.
