Shortly before 6 a.m. on Monday, June 1, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office dispatch received a 911 call in reference to a robbery at OJ’s Mobile Mart store, located at 9508 Highway 12 in Orange. There were no life threatening injuries reported in the hold-up, but video surveillance from the store looks to depict the robber firing a shot from a handgun at the clerk while holding another employee by the shirt collar on the floor. The round ricocheted off the plexiglass barrier protecting the store clerk, who complied and emptied the register’s cash drawer into the hands of the gun-wielding assailant.

The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 5’10 and weighing 180 pounds. He fled the store on foot. Anyone with any information regarding this robbery is asked to contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
