The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reports that investigators responded to Orangefield Junior High School at approximately noon on Friday, Jan. 28, in response to a call from a school employee reporting that a 13-year-old student in the 8th grade was being detained following a fight on campus wherein a weapon was produced.
According to a report from OCSO, school employees advised they were able to disarm the student prior to law enforcement arrival, taking a knife from the teen girl that had allegedly threatened employees and students with the blade.
The alleged knife-wielding 8th-grader was taken into custody, arraigned and transported to a juvenile detention facility pending a court appearance.
No employees or students were harmed during the incident.
