Man killed when struck by vehicle

Vidor Police Department Chief Rod Carroll reports that one man was fatally wounded in an auto-pedestrian incident that occurred at approximately 10:22 p.m. July 23.

Officers responded to the scene of the collision, on the IH-10 Eastbound Service Road, just west of Church Street, where they located a man lying in the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased by Acadian Ambulance Service.

The driver of the vehicle was reportedly cooperating with investigators and an investigation is ongoing as to the circumstances that led to the fatality.
