Lamar University is keeping the majority of students off campus, at least through the scheduled summer sessions, according to LU information released April 3. The university has had three employees test positive for COVID-19.

FROM LU: Given the unknown situation facing us all for an extended period of time, and to ensure the continuing safety of our students, faculty and staff, LU will transition all currently scheduled courses to online or through an alternative delivery method for the entire summer schedule including the following terms:

Summer Full Term (POT1)
First Half Term (POT2)
Second Half Term (POT3)
If circumstances permit, the hope is to offer on-campus delivery of incomplete laboratories or clinical experiences in a newly scheduled Mini-Session beginning Monday July 27, to Thursday, August 13.

Summer School is not canceled, but LU is transitioning to online/alternative delivery for the entire summer schedule. Making the decision at this time hopefully will allow our students to plan for the summer and support every student's academic progression.
