HARDIN COUNTY | Six people injured in multi-vehicle crash

A three-vehicle crash on U.S 96 north of the Old Evadale Highway resulted in six people being injured on April 2, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The preliminary crash investigation indicated at 1:05 p.m., a 2020 Ford Fusion was stopped at the intersection of Old Evadale and U.S. Highway 96. A 2014 Nissan Frontier was traveling north on U.S. 96 in the left lane.  It is reported that the driver of the Ford failed to yield the right of way at a stop intersection, pulled into the roadway in front of the Nissan and caused a collision. The Ford spun and collided with a 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe that was traveling north on U.S. Highway 96.   
The driver of the Ford, Leelia Rogers, 84, and passenger Leonard Rogers, 85, of Buna, were transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. 
The driver of the Nissan, Denise Howard, 69, of Jasper, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Two passengers, Jessie Howard, 34, and Roas Bryer, 39, both of Jasper, were transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for non-life-threatening injuries.  The third passenger, Phyllis Howard, 74, of Jasper, was not injured.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Dorman Hawthrone, 69, of Buna, was not injured.
