In the spirit of giving, the Orange Fire Department announced the launch of its eighth annual “Fill the Fire Truck Campaign” at the Central Fire Station. The event helps to support local families in need within the Orange community, and to spread joy and holiday cheer to those facing challenges during the holiday season.

The fire department, in collaboration with local charities, will work tirelessly to distribute the collected gifts where they are most needed.

“While the 1920s model truck is a sight to see in itself, we have a vision of it serving the community once again by filling it with gifts for those less fortunate this holiday season,” said Fire Chief John Bilbo.

The campaign runs through Dec. 11, accepting donations of new and unwrapped toys during the hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. every day of the week. Residents are encouraged to contribute to the cause by dropping off their gifts at any of the three conveniently located fire stations within the City of Orange:

• Central Fire Station, 501, N. 7th St.

• Fire Station No. 2, 1901 Allie Payne Rd.

• Fire Station No. 3, 1717 MLK Dr. Bilbo and Fire Department Secretary Mary Low are available to provide additional information and answer any queries and can be reached at (409) 883-1050.

The Orange Fire Department embarks on this endeavor, they invite everyone in the community to join hands and make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
