Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick issued an addendum to the current emergency order today, April 13, that allows dog groomers to reopen for business.

"I am now ordering that animal groomers may resume operations, provided they: Conduct interaction with animal owners to maintain safe distancing protocols...; payment for services can be made in a form other than cash; arrange to provide services by appointment so that no more than one animal will be present in the place of business at any time; thoroughly sanitize equipment between each use; and require that the animal be returned to the owner outside the place of business."

Violations of the order can be punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 or up to 18 months in jail.
