After being closed for nearly five months, Cinemark Tinseltown at 3855 I-10 South will reopen Aug. 25 with a list of heath and safety measures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

“As we begin thoughtfully reopening theatres, the health and well-being of our guests, employees and communities is a top priority,” said CEO Mark Zoradi. “You will notice greatly enhanced cleanliness, sanitizing and safety measures at every step of your movie-going experience.”

Overall auditorium capacities will be reduced and reservation system will then block off seats around the customer so that everyone will be spaced at least six feet apart. In addition, CInemark will stagger showtimes to allow more time for guests to exit and prevent overcrowding in restrooms, halls and lobbies. This also allows employees more time to clean and sanitize between movies. Guests are encouraged to practice physical distancing when entering and exiting the auditorium.

Movie goers will also be encouraged to purchase tickets online. Cinemark will require that face masks be worn throughout each theatre. Masks may be removed when eating and drinking inside the auditorium. Cash payments will not be accepted for snack purchases. However, a designated area within each theatre will accept cash and will have gift cards available.

Cinemark’s comeback classics that could be shown are “Ghost,” “Clueless,” “Dazed & Confused,” “Raiders of the Lost Park” and “Jurassic Park.”
