“Due to a significant number of students and staff members that have either tested positive for COVID-19 or are in quarantine due to exposure, West Brook High School will close for on-campus learning for five school days,” an announcement from the Beaumont Independent School District (BISD) alerted parents on Wednesday, Jan. 20.

“Following the district’s guidelines for COVID school closures, West Brook will switch to entirely virtual learning beginning Thursday, Jan. 21, through Wednesday, Jan. 27, for all on-campus and virtual learners. Students who may need a device should contact Mr. Wood, jwood@bmtisd.com, to make arrangements.”

BISD communication advises that all UIL athletic events and after school practices will still occur as scheduled, with the exception of individual teams that are currently on quarantine. West Brook will provide breakfast and lunch via curbside meal distribution at the West Brook High School front-drive from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. daily, starting Thursday, Jan. 21.

During the closure, the entire campus will receive a deep cleaning and disinfection. To learn more about BISD COVID-19 Protocols, visit www.bmtisd.com/covid-19.
