The Sabine-Neches Chiefs Association Community Service Award was presented to Michelle Brewer, executive director/CEO of Jefferson County Long Term Recovery Group and SETX VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster).
Brewer was cited for her response to the July 21 breach of the Lower Neches Valley Authority canal that flooded a large neighborhood in west Beaumont.
The Community Service Award is presented to a member who has provided leadership, guidance, facilities, equipment, or support to an emergency response program, a community, or the profession in the furtherance of emergency response activities.
