BPD investigates hookah bar shooting

At about 2 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, Beaumont police responded to a shooting at the Exstasy Hookah Bar, located at 2550 IH-10. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim suffering from several gunshot wounds.

Investigation revealed that the victim got into an altercation with the suspect in the parking lot. At that time, the suspect produced a gun and fired several rounds, striking the victim. The victim was transported to St. Elizabeth, where he was treated for his injuries.

The suspect fled the scene in what was described as a newer model, dark-colored, possibly Ford dually. The suspect vehicle struck several vehicles in the parking lot while fleeing and should have fresh damage to the back of the vehicle. The suspect was described as a black man of stocky build. He was last seen wearing a red shirt and light-colored pants. The investigation is still on-going.
