Saturday, Oct. 24, patrol deputies notified the Orange County Narcotics Division about the presence of 75 pounds of marijuana in a burning residence located on Easy Street.

Officers arrested Douglas Wayne Claybrook, 62, for possession of maijuana of an amount greater than 50 pounds, which is a second-degree felony, after his blazing residence unveiled his closet.

Once Orange County Emergency Services District 1 extinguished the fire inside the home, they located several vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana, in plain view, laying on the floor and in a closet, according to a news release.

After securing a search warrant, a further search of the residence yielded approximately 75 pounds of marijuana, a 7.62x51mm semi-automatic rifle and a Glock 19, 9mm handgun that was reportedly stolen out of Lake Charles, Louisiana.
