Beaumont’s emergency operations will cease once winds reach 35 mph, according to BPD Officer Haley Morrow. 

Wind speeds are predicted to exceed 100 mph, meaning the aforementioned scenario is quite likely. As of 4:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, The Weather Channel reported 145-mile-an-hour winds within Hurricane Laura.
