Concert photos: The Millennium Tour

Off the unparalleled success of “The Millennium Tour” brand that broke box office records and was honored with a Billboard Award for “2022 Rap Tour of the Year,” the 2025 version was nothing short of spectacular. The stacked lineup featured Trey Songz, Omarion and Bow Wow along with Plies, Boosie, Ying Yang Twins, R&B supergroup RSVP, Nivea and special guest Rick Ross sold out the Toyota Center in Houston on March 30. And you didn’t have to be a millennial to enjoy the show.

Trey Songz, who we saw recently with Keyshia Cole, had top billing. Nearing 30 million records sold, the Grammy-nominated singer, a.k.a. “Mr. Steal Yo Girl,” was everything you wanted in a headliner. Our favs were “I Need a Girl,” “Bottoms Up,” “Na Na” and, of course, “Say Aay.”

It was our first time seeing Omarion, who we were first introduced to in 1998 as the lead singer of the boy band B2K (remember the catchy tune “Bump, Bump, Bump?”). Not only does he not look 40 (maybe mid-20s), but he can also flat-out dance and sing. The reason this is referenced is because there was no help with vocal tracks as he popped, locked and dropped it across the massive stage. Our favs were “O,” “Icebox” and “Post to Be.”

Bow Wow stole the show. Yes, he really did. While this isn’t a negative reflection to other performers, Bow Wow had the most energy and the crowd appreciated it. Known for rapping alongside Snoop Dogg in 1993 at the age of 5, Bow Wow was selling millions of albums before he was a teenager. Most of his songs have sold millions and our personal fav is “Fresh Azimiz.” Near the end of his set, Bow Wow welcomed a few Houston music legends to the stage in Paul Wall and Trae the Truth. What a performance.

Plies gave us “Becky,” “Shawty,” “Hypnotized” and “Bust it Baby (Part 2);” nine-time Grammy nominee Rick Ross performed “Hustlin’,” “Purple Lamborghini,” and “Aston Martin Music;” Boosie was another favorite of ours with “Set It Off,” “Wipe Me Down” and “Independent;” RSVP (Ray J, Sammie, Bobby V, Pleasure P) were super fun as were Ying Yang Twins and Nivea.

Every song by every artist are massive hits. We also loved the pace of the show. There were no wait times between each set, so the flow was fantastic. The production was also spot on, which is what we’ve come to know and love by tour producer Black Promoters Collective.
