Jefferson Theatre will host the showing of the 1987 fantasy adventure comedy film, “The Princess Bride.” Directed and co-produced by Rob Reiner, the movie starts Robin Wright, Cary Elwes, Mandy Patinkin, Chris Sarandon, Christopher Guest, Wallace Shawn and Andre the Giant.

Holiday season begins in downtown Beaumont

Despite Hallmark Channel hosting holiday movies before Memorial Day and department stores shelving Christmas items in July, the true season begins Wednesday, Dec. 4, with the City of Beaumont’s seventh annual Tree Ceremony at the Downtown Event Centre Lake (700 Crockett St.) at 5 p.m.

Celebrating 72 years, the Symphony of Southeast Texas presents “Symphonic Dreams,” featuring a stunning program of classical masterpieces: Rossini’s “Italian in Algiers Overture”, Barber’s “Violin Concerto, op. 14”, Mendelssohn’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, and Mozart’s “Symphony No. 40, g minor.

A gala for the children

In 2023 alone, there were 55,293 child victims served by the 70 child advocacy centers in Texas. Of those, Garth House served more than 700 of those children throughout Jefferson, Orange, Hardin, Jasper, Tyler and Newton Counties.
