A Jefferson County grand jury has indicted a Beaumont man for murder. 28-year-old Alejandro Richard is charged with the August 29,2026 death of 66-year-old Patrick James.
Police were called to the Sunlight Manor Apartments in the 2900 block of N 8th Street in reference to a disturbance. Officers entered the apartment and found Richard on top of James, who was unconscious.
James was transported to the hospital where he died. Witnesses told officers Richard had struck James in the face multiple times and stomped on his chest.
