After coaching for 43 years, West Orange-Stark high school football coach Dan R. Hooks has retired. 

Hooks, 72, announced on Friday that he accepted an incentive package offered by the West Orange-Stark school district, which means he will receive 10 percent of his $80,394.60 salary. His last day will be June 30.

In 30 years as a head coach, Hooks' overall record was 283-75-2 with a career winning percentage of .794. He won back to back 4A state titles in 1986-87, won 17 district in 29 seasons at WO-S and had a playoff record of 37-19.

Nutty Jerry's Entertainment Complex in Winnie announced they will host four indoor football games beginning April 1 as the Houston Stallions of the Houston based Southern Indoor Football League will play four of their home games at the facility.

Their home arena is H&P Arena, which is located on the campus of Texas Southern University in Houston.

The four games scheduled for Nutty Jerry's:

-Friday, April 1 vs. Rio Grande Valley Magic

-Monday, April 25 vs. Corpus Christi Hammerheads

-Saturday, May 7 vs. Abilene Roughriders

Lamar State College-Port Arthur saw their magical season come to an end Friday afternoon when Cape Fear Community College defeated the Seahawks 66-63 in the consolation bracket of the NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchinson, KS.

Sophomore guard Vonn Jones led the Seahawks with 17 points and had six assists in his final game and fellow sophomore guard Keenen Coleman closed out his junior college career with a double-double, 12 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore forward Roman Vaughn added 16 points.
