A Nederland woman is dead after being struck by a pickup truck while walking in the 10,000 block of Memorial Blvd in Port Arthur Monday, Dec. 23.

According to a Port Arthur Police Department press release, around 9 p.m., Tiffany Nicole Wagner, 24, was walking north on the Memorial Boulevard northbound access road when a Chevrolet pickup truck also traveling north struck her.

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety commissioned 102 men and women as Highway Patrol troopers during the recruit graduation ceremony. Attorney General Greg Abbott was the keynote speaker during the ceremony, which was held at Great Hills Baptist Church.

The new troopers will report to duty stations across Texas in the coming weeks and spend the first six months in on-the-job training.

A mother of three from Beaumont must spend the next few years on probation after abandoning her children.

Lillian Patrice Hancock was indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury Sept. 9 for endangering a child, a state jail felony.
