Do you have what it takes to write, shoot and edit your own short film in just two days? Can your team best all the rest and win fortune and glory?

The annual Boomtown 48-Hour Film Race is free to enter and will kick off on Friday, Aug. 19, at Madison’s on Dowlen (4020 Dowlen Rd.) in Beaumont at 7 p.m.

The rules of the race will be read when teams sign in. Teams may consist of any number of people and the maximum film run time will be 4 minutes, including credits.

The deadline to turn in films is 48 hours after the last team signs in and receives their genre at the race kickoff, which will be around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 22

The first 12 films to cross the finish line will be screened at the Jefferson Theatre on Saturday, Sept. 10, during the 2022 Boomtown Film & Music Festival. The race films will be shown at 7 p.m., immediately followed by an announcement of the first, second and third place winners, which will include a cash prize of $100 for first place and the coveted Gusher Trophy.
