Lace Christian, arrested for murder while awaiting a court date to answer allegations of continuous sexual abuse of a child and indecency with a child, requested a bond reduction before Jefferson County Criminal District Court Judge John Stevens on Aug. 15.

According to the Jefferson County Assistant District Attorney Bob Wortham presenting the case against the accused murderer and pedophile, Christian was already on bond for continuously sexually abusing a child, and a separate count of indecency with a child, when she was arrested for murder.

Christian’s attorney was hoping to secure a bond agreement for his client that would allow her release – again – from jail. According to Christian’s attorney, the arrestee would be amenable to GPS monitoring and required house arrest.

Prosecutor Mike Laird said that Christian was already subject to GPS monitoring – as well as house arrest – when she allegedly committed murder in May of this year. “I don’t think there’s anything that can protect the public from someone who is out on bond on house arrest and goes out and commits murder,” Laird argued.

Stevens advised the court attendees that he set the bond in September 2020 for the child sex charges, and those bonds were revoked when Christian was arrested for murder this year. Bond for the murder charge is set at $1 million.
