Cops and Kids Beaumont

Performance Car Audio is "pumping up support" for the Beaumont Police Department's Cops and Kids Program's Fish Fry Fundraiser taking place Friday, March 6 on the store grounds located at 4055 Old Dowlen Road in Beaumont from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., and preorders are being taken now through March 3 for delicious fried fish dinners cooked up fresh and for a good cause.

The United Steelworkers (USW) expanded its unfair labor practice (ULP) strike by launching a work stoppage at midnight Saturday, Feb. 21, at Motiva Enterprises refinery in Port Arthur.

Mental Health America of Southeast Texas presented three awards to outstanding members of the community who have done what they can to give support the area and its citizens at its 54th Anniversary Luncheon on Feb. 17, and The Examiner was proud to be among those honored.

The Museum of the Gulf Coast and the Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) are celebrating Black History Month, and the public is invited to visit the museums to learn more.

The Museum of the Gulf Coast presents Port Arthur native and singing sensation Richard Perkins on Feb. 28 in honor of Black History Month. Perkins is a 1964 graduate of Lincoln High School and a professional classical singer, a deep, mellow bass.


The Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) invites everyone to “Go for the Gold” on Thursday, March 5, for a chance to win $10,000 in gold or other prizes at its annual reverse drawing. The theme this year is “Rollin’ it Back” as AMSET increases the odds of winning by reducing the number of tickets sold from 500 to only 450.
