Woman found deceased near downtown Beaumont

The Beaumont Police Department (BPD) released the name of a woman who was found dead on Dec. 9.

The body of Sonai Rokieshey Nelson, 33, of Beaumont, was found in the 1300 block of Broadway Avenue. BPD responded to the scene about 7 a.m. and closed off Oakland Street during the investigation, according to BPD.

An autopsy has been ordered and the investigation is ongoing. Individuals with information about Nelson are asked to call BPD at (409) 832-1234.
