The Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) will present James C. Watkins: Reflections Made of Memories, on view from Jan. 7 through March 19, 2023. An opening reception, free and open to the public, is set for on Friday, Jan. 13, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Drinks and light refreshments will be served, with a brief gallery talk at 7:15 p.m. with the artist and his essayist Joshua Green, Executive Director of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts.

Watkins, a Texas ceramicist, boasts a career spanning four decades, known for his unique firing techniques and mastery of building large double-walled vessels inspired by the rural south.
