Sheriff meets author, signs book

Jefferson County Sheriff Zena Stephens was honored recently to meet author Ronnie Erwin, who co-wrote the book “Stars Over Texas” with his late wife, Lynn, who was a history teacher.

“Stars Over Texas” takes an in-depth look at the history of the 7,000 sheriffs that have served in the Lone Star State over the past 178 years.

Stephens signed on the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office-Texas portion of the book. Erwin is obtaining the signatures of all 254 Texas sheriffs and then donating the “Stars Over Texas” series to the Texas State Library.

Erwin gifted Stephens with the set of books to be displayed in her office.
