Beaumont Independent School District Superintendent Shannon Allen was featured in a mass call to district stakeholders alerting parents, students and staff to intentions to reopen classes following Spring Break on Monday, March 23.
During this “unprecedented” time, as the world braces for a COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak, Allen reports that district officials are taking a day-by-day approach to monitoring the situation. As of Monday, March 16, Allen said the decision has been made to return to class the following Monday.
“While we have not made a decision to close at this time,” Allen said that students who remain home from classes will not be penalized for their attendance.
”Make the decision that is best for you and your family,” Shannon advised.
