Evolution Academy is among several charter schools to host the “Celebrating 25 Years of Public Charter Schools in the Golden Triangle” leadership breakfast on Thursday, Oct. 21, for public charter school leaders, lawmakers and community leaders. The event will be held at 8 a.m. at 3920 W. Cardinal Dr. in Beaumont.

The stated purpose of the breakfast is “to educate the community and lawmakers on public charter schools in the area and the diverse educational opportunities in the community.” Participating schools include Evolution Academy Charter School, Harmony Public Schools, Responsive Education, Bob Hope Schools and Tekoa Academy of Accelerated Studies STEM School. The program, which is in partnership between charter schools in the Beaumont/Port Arthur metropolitan area and the Texas Charter School Association, will include a history of public charter schools, profiles of participating schools, a Q&A session and a tour of Evolution Academy’s Beaumont campus.

“I am honored to join with charter school colleagues to celebrate and share our missions and commitment to teaching and learning throughout the Golden Triangle community,” said Cynthia Trigg, Evolution Academy’s Founder and CEO.

Among the community leaders and lawmakers confirmed to attend the program are Beaumont Mayor Robin D. Mouton and Port Arthur Mayor Thurman Bartie.
