Nederland holds hearing to close street access

The city of Nederland is hosting a public hearing on Monday, Aug. 22, at 4:30 p.m. to allow interested persons to provide comments, ask questions, etc. regarding the Lower Neches Valley Authority’s request to abandon a section of Detroit Avenue and North 1st Street near FM 366 for their canal improvement project.  Per the LNVA’s request, Detroit Avenue would be closed before the LNVA canal. Per the LNVA’s request, N. 1st St. would be closed north of the Chicago Avenue intersection.
