Charles “Mike” Michael Havard Sr., 69, of Orange, passed away at his home on Friday, February 18, 2022. Mike was born on Friday, December 19, 1952, in Beaumont, Texas to Mr. Charles Monroe Havard and Mrs. Mildred (Haynes) Havard. Mike grew up with two siblings and spent his life in the Southeast Texas area. A graduate of the 1971 Class of Buna High School in Buna, Texas, Mike would go on to build a career as a Journeyman Electrician. Shortly after high school, Mike proudly served as a member of the United States Navy before returning to his ambitions as an electrician. In his younger days, Mike loved to ride motorcycles and developed a love of classic cars that would morph into a hobby; Mike would spend the rest of his life working on classic cars whenever he was able. A true Texan and country boy, Mike also loved to fish and hunt whenever the opportunity presented itself. One of his proudest achievements was the 10 years Mike spent as President of the Fraternal Order of the Eagle Orange Chapter and at the time of his passing Mike was an active member of the Port Neches Chapter. He will be missed by those who loved him.

Left to remember Mike are his sons: Charles “Chuck” Michael Havard Jr., and Chad Havard and wife Melissa; his mother, Mildred Haynes Havard; his siblings: Greg Havard, and Laurie Smith and husband Vicky Dale; his grandchildren: Colton Havard and wife Jacee, Peyton Havard, and Brady Havard; his great-grandchildren: Trevor Williams, and Kailee Havard.

Mike is preceded in death by his father, Charles Monroe Havard and his grandson, Caleb Monroe Havard.

Vicky Dale Smith, Brady Paul Havard, Destin Smith, Wayne Havard, Colton Havard, Doyle Havard, Elton Hollis, and Philip Welch served as pallbearers. 

A time of visitation for family and friends was held on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Lumberton Family Funeral Home. Mike’s life-honoring funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home. He was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park following the funeral service.
