Man brings gun to HHS office

July 26, at approximately 1:16 a.m., officers from the Port Arthur Police Department were dispatched to 4200 Jimmy Johnson Blvd., the Texas Health and Human Services Offices, in reference to a man with a gun who had pointed the gun at a person.

As responding officers arrived, they located a vehicle matching the description provided by the caller. The subject in the vehicle exited and fled on foot from officers. The officers were able to apprehend the suspect and discovered he had allegedly recently committed an aggravated robbery and was in possession of the victim’s property. Officers also located the firearm used in the robbery, as well as narcotics and cash.

The suspect was identified as Joshua Boyden, a 25-year-old Port Arthur resident.

This incident is currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Port Arthur Police Department.
