Henry’s Place, located at 1107 McFaddin in Beaumont, is currently seeking volunteers to allow for extended hours to help membes of the Southeast Texas homeless population. Next door to Some Other Place and right across the street from the homeless shelter being operated by the Salvation Army, Henry’s Place offers a day shelter for persons needing to wash their clothes, watch television in the air conditioning, take a shower, use the restroom and receive their mail at this address. There is no charge for any of this.

Currently, Henry’s Place is open from 8:30 – 11 a.m. during the week. Henry’s Place is looking to expand service until 5 p.m., but will require more volunteers to make the dream a reality.

Henry’s Place will be having an open house Thursday, July 21, from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. The public is invited to drop in to learn more about volunteer opportunities, or interested parties can go by during the week and visit with the director of the facility, James Boucher.
