Upcoming fun on the Fourth

Once again, 1929 Calder Place Association will host their annual Fourth of July Parade on Monday, July 4. Folks can come out to participate in the activity or just to enjoy the festivities. For those interested in the parade, there is no registration required… just head over to the Beaumont ISD Administration building at 8:30 a.m. for line up. Participants can decorate their golf carts, bikes, strollers, dogs, cars in patriotic themed red, white and blue colors. The parade will begin at 9 a.m. and head west from the BISD Administration building on North Street to 22nd Street. It will continue with a right turn on Harrison Avenue before finishing where it began. Those watching are encouraged to find a comfortable spot along the parade route and bring a lawn chair, rain or shine. For additional information, call (409) 651-3901. Later that evening, our fair city will host the 36th edition of the Fourth of July Celebration at the Downtown Event Centre Lake at 5 p.m. This free and spectacular evening offers a sensational salute to our nation’s history featuring live entertainment, food trucks, beer garden and the largest fireworks show in Southeast Texas.
