Beaumont Community Players once again hosted their very popular “White Linen Night,” which resulted in their largest crowd to date. Guests adhered to the dress code option with nearly everyone dressed in white (a great way to stay cool in the summer evening). This year’s event started later than last year and the temperature was much more accommodating. The fundraiser began with a beautiful song and dance by the Chinese Association of Southeast Texas. Over 28 artists sold their wares while Flava Band kept the party going and kept the dance floor crowded throughout the night. Del Papa provided cool beverages along with a taco truck and Mabel’s Treats that satisfied the sweet tooth. Perusing the art and playing conversation catch-up with their pals were Anne Winslow, Marth Sue Jones, Suzanne Maloney, Anthony Asta and Sara Asta, Susan and Larry Grantham, Shannon and Red Allen, Dean Terrebonne, Rusty Chimeno, Lynn Castle, Emily and Jeff Wheeler, Kimberly and Guy Goodson, Chrissy and Bill Darling, Gina Winegar, Sarah Ussery, Marilyn Adams, Jody and Jack George, Judy Dishman, Derek McWilliams, Melanie Dishman, Janey Broussard, Nancy and Steve McGrade, Tanya Hansen, Sherrie and Jeff Branick, Dottie and Gene Schulz, Sarah Wells, Lauren Mason, Jordan Williams, Bobbie Applegate, Laurel and Bruce Lancaster, Mauren Winchel, Barbara and Jim Raymond, Margi and Rocky Case, Lara Strawther, Pat and Craig Sherlock, just to name a few. Chairperson Charlotte Mains was all smiles most of the evening with the wonderful turnout. Already looking forward to next year!
Great venue… there was a good crowd at 7 Oaks Event Garden last Tuesday evening to enjoy the sensational sounds of Kaitlyn Kohler and Meredith Page. In the mix were Brenda and Charles Vessel, Pat Klein and Betty Clarke thrilled with the terrific talent of these two ladies. Their upcoming concerts include Chad Richard, Pug Johnson, Paul Sprawl, Drew Kennedy and more. What a fantastic local spot to enjoy quality live music!
Darling debs… Seven young ladies, who have all been enjoying the 2022 Symphony League Debutante season, were honored at two parties over the last few weekends. Those ladies include Josie Broussard (escorted by Andrew Bitar), Kathleen Jabbia (escorted by Vincent Mazzola), Emma Kiker (escorted by Rhett Knox), Lauren Lambert (escorted by Bryan Hansen), Sophia Madden (escorted by Riley Little), Grayson Mainwaring (escorted by Ashton Ohmstede) and Olivia Shanning (escorted by Walker Snider). They participated in bow practice and group photos in the afternoon and then were feted with a Family Fiesta in the home of Michele and Mitch Smith along with the participants parents as well as hosts Kara Hawthorn, Chelsea Brandimarte and Kathryn Messina. Last Sunday evening, the group of debs and escorts gathered by the pool of Johnnie and Joe Broussard for a meal prepared by Let’s Hibachi of Houston and then entertainment by drums and dancers of the Pacific USA. Chaperones Shelley Duke, Lauren Martin, Christine Stetson, Kate and Wil Thorne as well as many others enjoyed watching the group learn many exciting Hawaiian dances. Aloha!
Speaking of the Symphony… Tickets to the 70th season, titled “Platinum Jubilee: A Celebration of Resilience,” are now on sale. The amazing Maestro Chelsea Tipton II, who is celebrating his 14th year with SOST, will once again lead this amazing group beginning with their first concert Sept. 17 that features violinist Lara St. John. Storkmarketing… Christina and Joshua Lokey welcomed their first bundle of joy on Aug. 16. Precious Vivien Marie Lokey is loved by so many in her family. Congrats!
